Care

Your Leatherman multi-tools should be cleaned, dried and re-oiled periodically, especially after use in a damp environment. After cleaning, re-oil pivoting areas with a light machine or penetrating type oil (such as WD-40). Buff stained surfaces with a polishing cloth or non-metallic abrasive (e.g. Scotchbrite pad or soft bristle brush).

For Mica – Mining on the West Coast by Carl Walrond
Like characters in Bill Pearson’s 1963 novel Coal flat, we came to “the Moeraki River, spuming fierce and grey over boulders… at the other side of the bridge was a bluepainted hut with a sign ‘Blue Hotel’, named after the river locally known as the Blue.” Just before the river had I picked up some mica – from a stream draining the Kinnaird Range.
