From Charles grubb on 26/05/10
- If I am usually an 8 to 8 1/2 shoe size what size of the montrail zealot or any other climbing shoe should I be looking at? I also have a relatively wide foot. Are there any designs that are better for the wider footed gent?
- Hi Charles, The montrail Zealot is a very narrow shoe so it may not be suitable if you have a wide foot. We recommend you try shoes on before purchasing them as the fit will vary depending on the experience of the climber and the type of climbing shoe. I would recommend looking at the Red Chili Spirit Lace up http://www.bivouac.co.nz/gear/climbing/rock-climbing-shoes/red-chili-spirit-lace-up.html or the Red Chili Durango. These are both wider fits and suitable for a solid range of climbing. Thanks

- Are these a good all-round shoe?
- Hi Morgan, The Montrail Zealot is quite an agressive shoe so it is more suitable for indoor and steep climbing, however it will be fine for most climbing. Another shoe to look at would be the Red Chili Spirit. Thanks
