- i was wondering how to determine the exact length of the ice axe that is best suitable for my height ?
thnx - Hi Alex, The best way to figure out the correct length is to stand holding an axe and if it reaches between the top of your boot and the top of your ankle this is about right. If you don't have an axe to try this with just measure the distance between your closed fist and your ankle and you should get the measurement most suitable for you.
I hope this helps.
Thanks
Anita
