Congratulations Dougal on your fantastic effort for your third Coast to Coast title attempt for 2022.

Dougal Allan has been competing in endurance sport since 2006. His honours degree in Physical Education initially helped him produce his training programmes. It was working with professional coach and exercise physiologist Val Burke who coached him from 2009 until 2017 that took Dougal to a new level in endurance sport. As a result he has enjoyed successes across various sports all over the world. Highlights include outstanding results in triathlon and adventure races in Europe, Brazil, China, Australia and Canada. Dougal’s favourite place to race is New Zealand including hometown wins at the Challenge Wanaka event and is the current course record holder. Dougal has stood on the famous Coast To Coast podium seven times with a triumphant win in 2019 and a second place in 2020, taking the podium again in 2021, and now another podium finish with a very competitive 2nd place.
