Want to retain the warmth of the DownMat 7 but cut down on weight and packed size? Made from an ultralight polyester and without the built-in pump, the DownMat UL 7 does just that. This mat includes the Schnozzle Pumpbag for fast inflation without moisture getting into the down. It doubles as a waterproof compression packsack.

Features

  • Two flat valves, one for inflation and the other for deflation allow for quick and easy handling. Their flat design and positioning away from the mat’s edge offers protection and enhance durability.
  • Internal barriers at both top and foot end prevent down shift between the baffles
  • The mat’s fabric is a laminate of ultralight polyester and an absolutely airtight and moisture resistant TPU film. The upper face has a honeycomb structure with slip resistant properties that still allows for easy movement with a sleeping bag.
  • High frequency welded seams for durability
  • 5 year warranty
  • Welded baffles between the down filled chambers, unlike traditional airmats, eliminate cold spots and create a comfortably supportive and stable air cushion
  • The IDFL certified down is treated and moisture proof. The down does not originate from live pluck nor goose liver production
  • Stuff sack, field repair kit (fabric patches, glue and repair manual), users manual and Schnozzle Pumpbag for easy inflation included

Technologies

FlatValve Technology: Exped is the first manufacturer worldwide to incorporate these durable, easy to use valves in selfinflating mats. Two flat valves, one for inflation and one for deflation are found in the mat. One-way flaps on the valves hinder air from escaping during inflation, as 'self inflating mats' usually need a couple of breaths of air for top-up, and prevent air from re-entering during deflation and roll-up. Being flat in design, non protruding, of soft PU and without sharp edges makes these valves more durable than traditional ones.

100% airtight: each individual mat is tested for 72 hours prior to leaving the factory! The mats withstand 5x the pressure usually generated during inflation, which means they bear the weight of a car without bursting. The mat should be kept away from thorns, heat sources, fire sparks and general abuse. There is a compromise between low weight and durability. But this can be compensated by care.

Customise fit to your body ergonomics and sleeping behaviour with the FlatValve technology of the Exped mats: once the mat has been inflated completely and you are lying on it, pressure can be released by pressing on the one-way flap of the open Inflation valve. Release air through short bursts until you find the ideal softness of the mat for your sleeping position. This way sleeping outdoors will be a positive experience for users with back problems or the more mature of us, as countless messages sent to Exped confirm.
