The lightweight, single-compartment WhiteOut 55 alpine pack features a user-friendly roll-top closure and Dyneema® Composite fabric for waterproof, abrasion-resistant, tear-resistant performance perfect for alpine, climbing and expedition adventures. Its slim shape and cushioned backpanel put the centre of gravity close to your body for superior load control and provide ideal load distribution even when partially full. Other features include a removable waist strap for easy haulage and tool and gear attachment points.

  • Clean, single compartment pack in a very versatile size. Its slim shape puts the centre of gravity close to the body for superior load control. Ideal load distribution at all times even when partially full.
  • User-friendly fold and roll closure for waterproof performance. Just roll at least 3 times, then snap the buckles/carabiners shut. Fold and roll closure allows you to vary the pack height.
  • Alternatively, seal the fold and roll closure by hooking the carabiners (included) into the lateral daisy chains for a very compact profile
  • Removable waist strap
  • The dual adjust waist strap buckle, in an aluminium/plastic material mix, is extremely robust and crush resistant
  • There is a simple trick for attaching modern ice tools (without ice tool shovels):
    1. thread the ice axe loop through the "head hole" of the ice tool
    2. attach a carabiner (which every mountaineer will have anyway) to the ice axe loop in order to secure the ice tool. If necessary, the (non-extendable) loop can be shortened (with a knot) to secure the ice tool closer to the backpack.

Technologies

Dyneema® Composite fabric is an extremely tear and abrasion resistant material with an exceedingly light weight. This fabric is 10% lighter, 30% thinner and 30% stronger than high-end nylon fabrics and features a TPU film for 100% waterproof performance.
Care

From Exped: Backpacks (this is not brand specific) should never be washed in washing machines or dried in a tumble dryer as this can lead to permanent damage of the fabrics and the PU coating . A further problem is that detergent residue and fabric softeners can damage the coating. Exped recommend washing your backpack by hand in warm water using ph-neutral soap, baby shampoo or shower gel. Stains can be removed with a soft brush. Air dry thoroughly (no direct sunlight or heat source) and store in a dry place.
