When your waterproof footwear gets dirty it attracts water masking the effect of any durable water repellent (DWR) finish and causing your footwear to "wet out" in wet or damp conditions as well as loosing breathability. Using the Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™ will remove contaminants such as dirt and also revitalise DWR and breathability without the need to re-waterproof. Ensure you keep your feet comfortable and dry with regular cleaning and when the Cleaning Gel alone does not revitalise the DWR of your footwear then turn to an appropriate waterproofer.

- Thoroughly cleans your waterproof footwear safely, leaving no hydrophilic residue that many conventional cleaners leave behind and causes the footwear materials to absorb water
- Regular cleaning will enhance the performance of your footwear by removing contaminants but when using Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™ alone doesn't revitalise the DWR of your footwear it is time to re-waterproof using and appropriate waterproofer
- Water-based, environmentally-friendly and biodgradable
- Recommended for GORE-TEX®, eVent® and all other waterproof footwear
- Easy to use:
- Rinse item with clean water to remove loose mud and to dampen surface
- Shake well before use. Press sponge applicator to break seal.
- Apply generously over the area to be cleaned
- If very dirty scrub with a stiff nylon brush (e.g. nail brush)
- Rinse well with clean water
- If required, apply appropriate Nikwax® Water-based waterproofing or conditioner while footwear is damp
- Note: Colour may run, test on a hidden area first.
- Leave footwear to dry at room temperature
- Paper can be stuffed into the toes to absorb excess moisture, this should be replaced when wet
- Keep footwear away from fires and radiators, drying too quickly can crack leather and cause bonded soles to peel
