Icebreaker socks are proportionally adjusted to provide the perfect fit. Socks in the women's range have a reduced circumference to be a perfect fit for slimmer feet. The Y heel construction is extended to prevent socks slipping on women's smaller ankles, and the toe box is narrowed to reduce bulk.
The women's-specific Hike+ Heavy Crew Socks are designed for rugged hiking and backpacking adventures. They are made with soft, breathable Merino wool for comfort blended with durable nylon and LYCRA® for extra stretch and fit and are fully and densely cushioned. Other features include updated styling, an anatomical toe box for a unique left and right fit, a reinforced heel and toe for durability, seamless toe closures to prevent blisters, and strategic support and breathe zones for extra comfort.

The smaller the micron, the finer the fibre, the softer it feels. The diameter of a Merino fibre is measured in microns – where one micron equals one millionth of a metre. Icebreaker's Merino fibres range from 15.5 to 23.5 microns to ensure a soft hand feel across our skin to outer layers. Finer fibres feel softer because they bend more easily when in contact with the skin.
