Icebreaker Journeys/Travel Layers are a versatile system of interchangeable merino layering pieces ranging from essential core garments to seasonal trend-driven styles you can wear across seasons and continents, either on their own or layered up when conditions get a bit cooler.
Next -to-skin/first layer and mid layer garments are soft and non-itch, temperature regulating, breathe to prevent clamminess, resist odour and on top of that are very easy to care for (including no need to iron) - just what you need when travelling.
Black Sheep garments are made from an exceptionally fine micron of merino wool, grown in New Zealand's rugged Southern Alps. The merino is knitted into a fine gauge to create a stylish collection of exclusive knitwear. Special garment features in the Black Sheep series include raglan sleeves with fully-fashioned details, shoulder darts, ergonomic side seams for a superior fit, and ribbing at the hem, cuff and neckline.
Journeys Jackets completes the Journeys/Travel Layers with an exciting range of urban styles. Warm as well as windproof, these soft, breathable jackets provide the ultimate protection against the elements.
Care
Icebreaker garments almost look after themselves as they don't hold moisture or odour. In fact, the known record for wearing an Icebreaker non-stop is 196 days in extreme conditions. Here are a few tips to get the best out of your Icebreaker.
Washing Instructions:
Use warm or cool machine wash on normal cycle with regular powder or liquid detergent, not wool detergent
For its first wash, wash the garment separately (after 2 to 3 days use) to remove any loose fibres and avoid pilling
Wash with like colours
Wash on a normal cycle with other hard fabrics (e.g. denim) to remove fluffing
Never use a fabric softener
Do not use detergents with bleach
Do not tumble dry - dry flat in the shade or on the clothes line
Note: Hand washing can enable a residual build up of perspiration which could contribute to an odour problem.
