Women's specific packs: True function and comfort along with style. Osprey have over 20 years of experience designing women&'s packs.

  • Pack's shape:: The pack's shape is patterned to be narrower and with added depth in the right places. This allows greater freedom of movement and increases stabilisation by lowering the position of the load to a more optimal centre of gravity. As a result, the load is more proportionately supported on the hips and along the structure of the back.
  • Harness: The shoulder harness is designed with thoughtful angle changes and varying padding thickness to create an anatomical fit for a woman's neck, shoulders and chest. This is balanced with optimising where the tension from the pack's load is carried. For women, Osprey's sternum strap is a key piece in equalising the pressure across the shoulder harness. The padding used is also specific in order to be more comfortable when carrying a heavy load.
  • Hipbelt: The hipbelt is designed with thoughtful angle changes and varying padding thickness to create an anatomical fit. The hipbelt is also narrower in height for better comfort so it doesn't dig into the ribs or upper thighs when scrambling or climbing. Most importantly, women's hips are more conically shaped with a larger difference between the waist and hip measurements. Osprey sculpt and angle their hipbelts accordingly for comfortable load transfer and optimal support. Again, the padding used is also specific in order to be more comfortable when carrying a heavy load.

Load range: Not an exact science but a combination of torso sizing, hipbelt sizing and stiffness, harness sizing and stiffness, frame type, framesheet type, stay type and intended use. Load range will vary based on the user, their experience, bone structure, body fat/muscle mass and their perception of comfort or penchant for suffering. Load ranges provide a starting point to help you determine what level of comfort you can expect from our packs given a specific load. This makes it easy to compare multiple packs and make the right decision for you based on the amount of gear you plan to carry.

  • After each trip, empty the pack including any food, dirt or spilled contents
  • Clean the zips regularly using mild soap, warm water and soft brush. This will help keep them in proper working condition.
  • Wipe the exterior of the chassis with a damp cloth or sponge
  • Clean the pack fabric by scrubbing stains and dirt with warm water, mild detergent and a soft brush or sponge
  • Use a wet towel with clean non-soapy water to wipe away any soap residue on the pack.
  • Hang your pack to dry outside or in a well ventilated area, out of direct sunlight.
  • Note: DO NOT immerse packs with a HighRoad™ Chassis in water
