The Rando is a lightweight, compact rope designed for safety on snowfields and steep passages, during mountain walking or skiing. It is marked at 12m intervals for spacing multiple tie-ins and weighs just 36g a metre to minimise the weight you' carry on the approach. This rope also features a Golden Dry treatment of the core plus a Dry Cover sheath to provide more resistance to ice and water and reduced weight gain in wet conditions as well as better resistance to abrasion, dust and water.
  • A rope for safety in steep passages or on glaciers while hiking or skiing
  • Markings every 12m to assist tying in
  • Part of Beal's Mountain Line designed for challenging weather with Golden Dry treatment
  • For every rope puchased Beal plant one tree

Mountain Line range: specifically developed for climbing in challenging weather conditions found when mountaineering or ice climbing, MOUNTAIN ropes benefit from 2 treatments: in addition to the sheath's DRY COVER treatment, all core strands are individually treated with a water repellent coating. The combination of both treatments creates a GOLDEN DRY rope. All MOUNTAIN ropes are GOLDEN DRY. They therefore feature the same benefits as INTENSIVE ropes, but with minimal water absorption and increased suppleness. All MOUNTAIN ropes are UIAA WATER REPELLENT accredited, and are constructed using the THERMO FLUID process creating a more compact and supple rope. Benefits: water and frost resistant; very little weight gain in humid conditions; prevents the rope diameter from expanding; rope runs smoothly through carabiners and belay devices; abrasion resistance during normal use.

  • A rope must not be allowed contact with chemical agents, particularly acids which may destroy the fibres without visible evidence
  • Avoid unnecessary exposure to UV, store the rope in a cool, shaded place, away from dampness and direct heat
  • It is preferable to use a rope sack for transporting and for laying the rope out at the base of the cliff to protect against dirt and reduce twisting
  • If the rope is dirty, it may be washed in clear cold water, if necessary with a washing agent designed for delicate textiles, using a brush made with synthetic bristles
  • If the rope is wet, after use or washing, leave to dry in a cool, shaded place
  • Before and after each use inspect the rope visually and manually along its entire length
  • This product must be inspected periodically and meticulously, every 3 months if in frequent use, annually for occasional use
  • The rope is personal equipment. During any use away from you it may be subject to grave damage, which may not be visible.
  • If a rope is cut into a number of lengths, repeat and affix to each new end the markings of the original ends
  • Retired the rope:
    • if it has held a major fall, approaching fall factor 2
    • if inspection reveals or even indicates damage to the core
    • if the sheath is very worn
    • if it has been in contact with any active or dangerous chemicals
    • if there is the slightest doubt about its security
