- Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel:
- Specifically designed and optimised for use on breathable waterproof footwear
- Remove contaminants from your footwear's surface and revitalises the DWR (durable water repellent) finish preventing water absorption, maintaining breathability and keeping your feet dry and comfortable
- Thoroughly cleans your waterproof footwear safely, leaving no hydrophilic residue that many conventional cleaners leave behind and causes the footwear materials to absorb water
- Easy-to-use brush applicator
- Regular cleaning with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gelâ„¢ will revitalize existing DWR and revive the breathability of your footwear, keeping your feet dry and comfortable
- Water-based, environmentally-friendly and biodgradable
- Easy to use:
- Rinse item with clean water to remove loose mud and to dampen surface
- Shake well before use. Press sponge applicator to break seal.
- Apply generously over the area to be cleaned
- If very dirty scrub with a stiff nylon brush (e.g. nail brush)
- Rinse well with clean water
- If required, apply appropriate Nikwax® Water-based waterproofing or conditioner while footwear is damp
- Note: Colour may run, test on a hidden area first
- Leave footwear to dry at room temperature
- Paper can be stuffed into the toes to absorb excess moisture, this should be replaced when wet
- Keep footwear away from fires and radiators, drying too quickly can crack leather and cause bonded soles to peel

Nikwax® takes great care to minimise the effect of Nikwax® products on the environment and on you, the consumer. Nikwax ®conditioning and waterproofing products are WaterBased, non-aerosol, non-flammable, non-hazardous and environmentally friendly. They contain no harmful solvents or volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and are completely free of fluorocarbons (which have been shown to be persistent in the environment and have been associated with serious health issues).

*Due to the oversized nature of certain products in our range we must charge an oversized shipping fee of $30 for 1 oversized item, or $50 for 2 or more oversized items to reflect the cost of shipping. This will include large packs, tents or heavy items. In most cases, a note will be displayed in the product description where this is applicable.
International Orders:
We are unable to ship internationally.
NZ Overnight Delivery:
All standard orders are sent via NZ Post’s Overnight Delivery Service. Orders placed before 2pm are usually delivered the next working day - nationwide, however delivery timeframes may occasionally vary due to courier delays outside of our control.
- Options for 'Signature Required' or 'No Signature Required' via the checkout.
- We deliver to NZ physical addresses and PO Boxes (no parcel lockers).
- We ship Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays).
- For Rural Deliveries and in certain parts of NZ - time frames may take a bit longer.
- Additional delays may also occur if further payment or address information is required.
- Your Order Confirmation Email and Shipping Confirmation Email will be sent from shop@bivouac.co.nz
- Orders with both standard and oversized items in them, will be delivered in the oversized delivery timeframe of 3-7 working days.
We strongly advise all customers to check goods thoroughly upon delivery before destroying packaging or removing any attached tags.
Oversized Deliveries:
Shipping of oversized items takes 3-7 working days. However you are able to pick these up Same Day should the oversized item be available in your selected store. Find out more here.
Track & Trace
All items are tracked using NZ Post. Check your Shipping Confirmation email for a link or click here and enter your tracking details.
To get your order to you as quickly as possible, your items may be shipped from multiple locations. This means your order could arrive in separate packages or be delivered on different days.

We offer free click & collect on all available items. Find out more here.
Non Shipping Days and Delays:
- Orders placed late Friday or over the weekend are processed the following Monday.
- Sale periods may cause delays due to increased order volume.
Note: During public holidays courier services are unavailable and dispatch will occur the next working day:
- 1st & 2nd January – New Years holidays
- 6th February – Waitangi Day
- Easter Weekend – Good Friday & Easter Monday

Rural Delivery:
No additional charges or fees for any rural deliveries throughout New Zealand. Some rural deliveries may take longer than standard NZ delivery times. Rural may take a further 1-2 days.
Cancellation Policy:
Unfortunately orders cannot be cancelled or modified once they are placed. However, if there's an issue with your order, please contact our Customer Service team as soon as possible and we'll do our best to help.
