Expert Opinion

The Stratoburst Stretch is a great, lightweight 2.5 layer shell suitable for a variety of activities. I would reccomend this jacket to someone looking for a light shell for day hikes, or multi-day hikes in fine weather, or as an urban/travel jacket. A number of customers have also picked this up for mountain biking as the longer fit of the jacket and 4-way stretch through the shoulders makes it suitable for the cycling position. While a tempting option due it's light weight, it's important to understand the limitation of 2.5L jackets and their ability to withstand a prolonged period of heavy rain and would not reccomend this for use in more inclement weather.

Light and reliable rain jacket. Hood is big enough to fit biking helmet, but also, it can be tightened so only eyes are exposed. Instead of zip pockets has zippers along the full length so it can be used as a poncho. I would recommend it for hiking and everyday use. Only downside is that the fabric starts absorbing water quicker than some other jackets, so it needs to be washed and waterproof more often.
