The Quest 5 is the lightest backpacking boot we carry. It provides excellent foot and ankle protection, with a very light feel not often associated with backpacking boots. Most customers can't get over how supportive these feel for their weight when trying on in store.

I'd recommend this boot to someone looking for a light 3 season backpacking boot or even someone looking for a highly weatherproof and supportive day hiker. While heavy by day hiking standards, the high ankle provides good weather protection on rainy or muddy routes, and excellent support on technical terrain.

These boots are fantastic for the more rugged tramper who is wanting a stiffer sole whilst still maintaining a bit of toe flex for comfort. Good for long distance. The stabilizer in the sole of the shoe is an asset against ankle rolling from under foot. Paired with snug lacing with use of the lack lock centred on the tongue of the boot, you can feel secure on track and off. Toe rand protects the nubuck leather from damage if you find yourself in light scree sort of environments, Though this sort of use will have you wearing down the Vibram soles a little faster than usual. With ideal carry weight between 12 and 15kg's these are the slightly more rugged, narrower fit to their Renegade cousins.
