Performance and Comfort in a Lightweight Package

"The Spark 7 is one of the more compact sleeping bags on the market. It is really comfortable with the 3/4 zip and even the little features of the plastic flaring that goes over the zip to stop it from catching the fabric and making it more comfortable for sleeping. I find while this bag is rated to 7 degrees, with a small amount of clothing on during the night it is quite comfortable down to 5 or 6 degrees overnight temps."

Expert Opinion

The Ascent -9° is by no means the smallest packing sleeping bag, but it is light. The Ascent series offers the relaxed mummy shape ideal for those who don't like the confinement of a mummy or are side sleepers. With an extreme low of -15° this bag is more than capable of handling New Zealand's winter alpine conditions and is one of the warmest in our range. However, the Free-Flow zipper configuration allows you to regulate temperature and makes it more useable in warmer temps compared to other sleeping bags with a single-half zip and the same temperature rating - but don't worry the wind won't be able to cut through the zipper draft tubes!
