- Guillaume Charton left the French Alps in 2001 to settle in New Zealand and study seismology, before moving into a career in education. He has devoted much of his time to setting up and running the Queenstown Climbing Club and putting up hundreds of routes in the area. He authored the first and co-authored the second sold-out editions of the Queenstown climbing guidebook.
