Made From | Ecozen®, Terralene®, Dryflex® Green |
Technologies | Ecozen® is a biomass-based transparent copolyester with high heat resistance. This BPA free material has excellent food container and utensil application. The biomass is from European GMO-free corn starch. Biobased plastics have a unique advantage over conventional petroleum based plastic in the sense that the composition is made fully, or in part, from plants or other biological matter. Biodegradable plastics can also be partly or fully made from plants or other biological matter but can also be fossil based. The advantage with Biodegradable plastics is the material's potential to break down in certain environment such as compost. Most often though, this compost must be done in an industrial compost. Terralene®: is a tailor-made family of polyethylene compounds based on renewable raw materials. All Terralene grades are based on sugarcane. The grade Light My Fire use is made from certified sugarcane and wood fibre from certified European wood. Its durability makes it perfect for products designed for long life cycles, and at end-of-use, it can be recycled in closed loops or in existing recyclate streams for packaging (no:2). Dryflex® Green: is a family of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds containing raw materials from renewable resources. It is made in two different densities of certified sugarcane for strength and hardness. |
