One of the most multi purpose pieces of clothing in my arsenal. Great technical base layer for colder alpine missions that fits really well into a layering system but just as good as a stand-alone around town jacket. The Coreloft insulation allows for the jacket to get wet and still hold an insulation factor, which is invaluable for me. Bit on the pricey side, but I feel you get what you pay for in terms of quality and versatility of this one.

Fit Tip: Extended hemline at back means it doesn't lift when you move

I've had the OR Helium down hoody for two years now and it's been my all around go to for around town or on ski touring trips. Its impressively light, packs down into one of the pockets nicely, and makes for a great mid layer under the ski shell. I love bringing it on multi day missions for its packability and think it's got a great warmth to weight ratio. This jacket also has been very durable and although not a rain jacket, it still does pretty well if you happen to get caught in the rain. Big fan of the Helium and would definitely recommend!
