This was the first pack I bought for myself when I started getting into overnight tramping when I was 18. It's a very simple pack with a lot of capability - the canvas makes it very durable and perfect for anyone who might be a bit rougher with their gear. I added some shock cord to the outside to stow my raincoat for quick access as it doesn't have much external storage/organization. I think this bag is perfect for anyone wanting to try out tramping or who are attending school camps - but I quickly upgraded to another pack that had more customized fitting and softer padding as the mesh on the shoulder straps was a little rough.

I have used the Aura AG 65 for hikes up to 8 days in the back country, and it was able to fit all my gear and food as a solo hiker. As a tall female with a very short torse, the adjustable harness and XS/S size allow me to fit the harness to have the right distribution of weight on my shoulders and hip. The anti-gravity frame and waist strap does feel snug when you first put the pack on, but it will loosen and form to your body as you use the pack. I've had my Aura 65 AG for 8 years she is still going strong! Best hiking bag I've had! I usually get terrible and super painful bruising on my hips, but with the anti-gravity back suspension I have not had that issue at all! It hugs your hips like a koala bear lol. Was beyond elated that I gave this pack a chance! Just came back from an 8 day hike in Mt. Aspiring National Park and this pack still gave the same comfort it did as when I first got it. If you want a comfy and reliable multiday pack that will last a long time I would highly recommend!

If you’re looking for a comfortable bag that manages weight extremely well, this is the bag for you. It’s by no means the lightest pack, but that means it can accommodate a much heavier load. If you’re looking to do some overnight trips in the range of 3-6 nights with light-to-midweight gear, think Milford track, Lake Waikaremoana, Abel Tasman, or Round the Mountain this will be an ideal volume for you. The harness is extremely customizable and moulds to your body over-time. The ease of adjustability paired with the comfort of this bag are why it’s easily one of our most popular and asked about packs.

The Anti-Gravity design of this pack does make the hip belt quite stiff at first – it does relax over time but if you have wider hips and this pack doesn’t quite work for you, I’d recommend looking at the Ariel EF.
