Expert Opinion

Outrageously light and plenty durable, these have been my go-to for the last couple of years. They pack down so small that I can justify bringing them on a much wider range of trips, and my knees thank me for it. They've been through a fair amount of abuse, and aside from the expected paint chipping, they are holding up incredibly. Just make sure that you extend them all the way until the clip has engaged and they'll be with you for many years.

Love my Trail Treks, they have been with me on every adventure I've been on. Even after 13.000ks on trails, Te Araroa, Pacific Crest Trail, E1, Portuguese Camino, other long adventures through Europe, and plenty of tramps throughout New Zealand they're still as reliable and sturdy as they were when I first got them. Probably my most favourite gear that is always with me as soon as I shoulder my backpack and venture out into the wild. Yes, they're not the smallest or the most packable, yet I never found them to get in the way of travelling or packing. Great for hiking up those hills, knee savers on the downs, and always reliable companions in a river crossing. Can't live without them on the trails. :)
