The Pulsar is an excellent go-to, every-day trail runner for a variety of terrains including occasional road use. Excelling on groomed trail, if you're running on wet, muddy or rooty terrain, say the Tararua Ranges, this is not the shoe for you. Suitable for long or short distances, the Pulsar boasts a moderate cushion, which some would consider thin in comparison to other maximalist trail running shoes. While not ultra-light, if you're looking for a light, durable and affordable option that can handle a variety of conditions (excluding mud), the Pulsar is an excellent option. This shoe does suit narrower feet and seems to run a half size big in my experiences trying them on.

A really solid, comfortable and cool-looking trail runner! These seem to fit wide feet better than other Salomon shoes (which may be a bit narrower). They are a favourite of a lot of trail runners who come into the store, as well as quite a popular choice as a hiking shoe. I find that they feel very secure and comfortable on and they fit quite a range of foot shapes. While I haven’t taken these guys out in the wilderness for a tramp or a run, they would be one of my top picks if I were looking for a comfy versatile shoe to adventure in.
