Use the keyboard on the touchscreen display to exchange text messages directly on the device or connect your compatible smartphone to the Garmin Messenger™ app and exchange text messages, send emojis and reactions or start a group chat

Speaker can be used as a safety siren

A really great insurance policy for all your outdoor pursuits. I've thankfully never had to use the SOS function on my Inreach, but knowing it's there means I can focus on the enjoyable parts of what I do and not the what-ifs. The Livetrack function is wicked for keeping the team at home up to date with where I am and being able to send a simple "I'm okay" message is really nice. I find it really beneficial to have up to date weather forecasting and have fallen back on the Tracback function when I've gone a little too far off track. Although there is a subscription fee and the user interface is almost like typing on an old Nokia, I'm sure in a situation where I need a bit of help, this might be one of my most important pieces of gear.
