While these are absolutely phenomenal waterproof pants, I wouldn’t recommend these necessarily to a beginner tramper or someone on a budget. Compared to the torrentshell, they are more more geared towards extreme conditions. The feature of unzipping up the entire leg is wicked but non-essential in my opinion (as a tramper and not a snow superstar). If you’re looking to get out and about in average to miserable conditions, these pants are probably a step above what you’re needing. In saying that, they are a fantastic and incredibly durable and reliable pant that will take you far!
