The Metafuji trail running shoes are designed for experienced runners who want great energy return on races. The shoes are best used on formed tracks as the narrow heel profile can feel unstable. The lightweight upper saves on weight but trades off on durability. The most unique feature about these shoes are the fact that they are carbon plated, which makes them a stiff shoe and creates spring back. Only wear them on races or fast runs as they will not be suitable as a daily runner or training shoe.

Expert Opinion

These shoes are a super comfortable every-day wear if you’re on your feet a lot. I find that they reduce a lot of back pain I might otherwise get from standing for hours and keep your feet feeling springy and supported. I have not used these for trail running, however I do find that they slide off if you don’t use the extra lace hole. From my experience with customers trying these shoes, they are better suited to people with a more defined heel that a straight up heel. Huge fan of the comfort and even bigger fan of the colours!

Fit Tip: Great fit for wider feet, a little less secure on the heel but otherwise quite true to size.

Expert Opinion

The Gel-Trabuco 14 GTX have all the same characteristics as the non Gore-Tex version. The newly updated wider toe box makes your feet feel roomy and comfy as well as creating more stability when running. The 4mm lugs create great traction and gripiness on gravel terrains and are a fairly lightweight trail runner. The added Gore-Tex is a good option for anyone wanting to keep their toes dry from wet grass while walking their dog or just going for a run. The downsides of having Gore-Tex are that your foot will not breath as well and will get sweaty fairly quickly and if you get the inside of the shoe wet it will take longer to dry out than the non waterproof version.
