If you’re looking for a comfortable bag that manages weight extremely well, this is the bag for you. It’s by no means the lightest pack, but that means it can accommodate a much heavier load. If you’re looking to do some overnight trips in the range of 3-6 nights with light-to-midweight gear, think Milford track, Lake Waikaremoana, Abel Tasman, or Round the Mountain this will be an ideal volume for you. The harness is extremely customizable and moulds to your body over-time. The ease of adjustability paired with the comfort of this bag are why it’s easily one of our most popular and asked about packs.

The Anti-Gravity design of this pack does make the hip belt quite stiff at first – it does relax over time but if you have wider hips and this pack doesn’t quite work for you, I’d recommend looking at the Ariel EF.

Fit tip:
Hugs the hips really tightly

Light and very durable pack that can be used on long day and as well on multiday hikes. It is narrower shape which gives enough room for movement in more challenging terrains. I'm using it as well as hiking-camera pack, and straps on the bottom the bag are super useful for holding camera tripod. I highly recommend use of pack liner and dry bags due to top-loading design.

Fit tip:
Comfy up to 12-14kg. Over that weight it is missing a bit padding on shoulder and hip straps.
  • Load range 7-16kg
  • Top-loading design with drawcord closure
  • Constructed with Osprey's technical NanoFly® fabric, which is reinforced with a triple-grid UHMWPE ripstop for outstanding strength, and extra-tough stretch pockets, this pack elevates our understanding of durability
  • Talon Pro is designed to be lightweight, fast moving and thoroughly featured to effectively adapt to the multi-sport demands of on-the-go adventurers and athletes
  • New torso adjustment and premium injection-moulded framesheet provides just-right structure to the pack and allows for a more comprehensive fit across the full spectrum of torso range
  • 4.0 mm LightWireâ„¢ peripheral frame effectively transfers load to hip belt
  • Injection-moulded AirScapeâ„¢ framesheet with die-cut foam provides a supportive, close-to-body fit while offering flexibility and ventilated airflow channels for active use
  • Mesh-covered foam lumbar for lightweight and comfortable contact surfaces
  • Sliding yoke torso length system ensures precise, stable fit for all users and is easily adjusted with two webbing straps
  • BioStretchâ„¢ harness and hip belt:
    • Integrated BioStretchâ„¢ seams offer maximum flexibility without sacrificing stability for dynamic body movement
    • Spacermesh over die-cut foam provides breathable, comfortable contact surface
    • Adjustable sternum strap with safety whistle buckle
    • Crossbody ErgoPull hip belt system to pull lumbar to your body for stability
    • Dual-zipped fabric hip belt pockets
  • Removable, floating lid can be extended to accommodate overloads
  • Internal compression strap effectively controls upper load
  • Internal hydration reservoir sleeve with centre pass through port
  • Large stretch mesh front panel pocket
  • Tuck-away ice axe attachment with bungee tie-off
  • Stretch woven side pockets
  • Dual upper quick release side compression straps
  • Dual V-pull lower side compression straps
  • Removable accessory pad straps on lower front panel
  • Blinker light attachment
  • Constructed with high-quality bluesign®-approved recycled high-tenacity nylon

The Kyte 48 and 68 are excellent packs for carrying light to moderate weight gear and have heaps of attachment points for when you need to carry some more technical equipment. It's a shorter and wider built pack that really suits individuals who are in between torso sizing on other packs like the Aura 50 or Eja 48. The Kyte 68, similar to the Ariel 65, is an awesome pack for taking travelling as well as hiking thanks to its front zip access that lets you access the pack similar to a suitcase.

  • Women's-specific fit:
    • Shorter torso length
    • Narrower, shorter harness with curves designed to accommodate most women's necks, shoulders and chests
    • A hipbelt designed to wrap naturally around the curves of woman's hips, offering better load stabilisation and support
  • Built to withstand every outdoor environment, from sandstone canyons to scrambling up snow-covered peaks to bushwhacks
  • Load range 9-16kg
  • LightWireâ„¢ suspension:
    • 3.5mm LightWireâ„¢ peripheral frame effectively transfers load from harness to hipbelt
    • Atilon framesheet spreads load across the entire backpanel to the peripheral frame
  • AirScape backpanel with adjustable torso length: mesh-covered ridged foam allows maximum ventilation while keeping the load close to the body
  • SpacerMesh harness and hipbelt: soft edgeless padded mesh offers a soft breathable contact surface and large load support
  • Zipped hipbelt pockets
  • Adjustable sternum strap with rescue whistle
  • Fixed top lid with large external zipped pocket, top panel lash points and under-lid zipped mesh pocket with key clip
  • Side-zip access to main compartment
  • Front panel shove-it pocket with stretch mesh gussets
  • Dual quick release upper side compression straps with axe/trekking pole capture
  • Dual lower side compression straps
  • Full-length vertical zipped side pocket
  • Dual stretch mesh side pockets
  • Zipped sleeping bag compartment with floating divider
  • Removable sleeping pad straps
  • Dual ice tool loops
  • Dual front panel daisy chains
  • Internal reservoir sleeve with Hydraclip for easier reservoir hanging
  • Stow-On-The-Goâ„¢ trekking pole attachment
  • Included raincover made with bluesign®-approved fabrics and DWR treatments made without PFAS, stored in zipped pocket at base of pack
  • Fabrics are bluesign® approved

The Eja 38 is a great option if you are weight conscious and are at the point in your hiking journey where you want to carry less. The pack itself is incredibly lightweight, its mesh back panel provides very nice air flow. The pack has been stripped down from any feature that would tend to add weight on regular packs while maintaining essential components such as, dual water bottle holders, thin compression straps, zipped hip belt pockets and a spacious outer mesh. This pack is designed to carry light loads only. In my opinion, your pack will collapse in itself and feel awful if you pack over 10-12kgs with the Eja 38. This is a very specific style of pack for someone who understands the trades off of owning and carrying lightweight gear.

Fit tip:
Very light and adjustable to various torso lengths
  • Women's-specific fit
  • Load range 9-11kg
  • Ultralight Airspeedâ„¢ suspension:
    • Injection-moulded ladder adjustment system provides 10.16cm of torso adjustability
    • Two-size design ensures perfect fit and allows for quick, easy adjustment
    • Stronger mesh and reduced seam design provides increased reliability for rigorous thru-hike usage
    • 4mm powder coated LightWire frame
  • ExoFormâ„¢ harness has seamless layered mesh for improved comfort and cushioning and an adjustable 15mm Sternum strap with integrated safety whistle
  • ExoFormâ„¢ extended hipbelt shaped for increased carry comfort also has zipped pockets for easy access to small on-trail essentials
  • ErgoPullâ„¢ hipbelt closure provides leverage to ensure a snug fit and optimal load transfer
  • Top pocket web loop attachment points
  • Removable floating lid with top-and under-lid zipped pockets for storing smaller items
  • Integrated FlapJacketâ„¢ protects packed gear when top lid is removed
  • Internal hydration sleeve with centre back hose port
  • Front stretch mesh pocket for stashing gear
  • Dual-access stretch mesh side pockets
  • Dual strippable side compression straps
  • Web lash points for attaching overloads
  • Dual ice axe loops with bungee tie-off
  • Stow-on-the-Goâ„¢ pole attachment
  • Removable sleeping pad straps
