Expert Opinion

Lightweight, 3 layer, fully seam sealed waterproof and windproof jacket. The Patagonia Storm Racer has it all. This jacket is specifically designed for high intensity activities like running or biking. Due to its lightweight nature, I would not recommend this product to people looking for a hiking jacket they will be wearing under a heavy pack.

But if you are a runner, cyclist or fast packer this jacket is definitely going to be one of the two best options I'd recommend you go for in Bivouac (the other one being The North Face Summit series superior future light jacket). It isn't easy to find a running jacket that is 3 layers and that makes a huge difference to your experience. The 3rd layer will protect that laminate from your sweat and from wear and tear. It will be much more comfortable to wear if you're wearing a singlet or short sleeves and will breathe better.
This jacket is affordable while delivering excellent results.

The raincoat of my DREAMS. For the price, I cannot fault this jacket at all. If you’re looking for an affordable jacket that can come with you around town as well as on your hikes, this jacket should be your first stop! The fit is slightly more fitted than boxy, coming in at the waist a bit, but I found that you could just about size down in this. It is lightweight, comfortable and super breathable. The colour options are completely unmatched by any other raincoat (peach?! Get real!) and I would absolutely not hesitate to buy this jacket again. Unless you’re in the markt for a hardcore super techy jacket, this raincoat will probably be your new best friend.

Fit Tip: True to size or possible even a bit big. Not a straight fit but does not restrict the hips.
