As a Gel-Trabuco shoe owner, I can tell you that this range is one of, if not, the comfiest trail running shoes I have ever tried on. The Gel-Trabuco mid boots carry all the same awesome features as it's Gel-trabuco family with the addition of ankle support and Gore-Tex membrane. What I love about this range, is how well it fits a wide range of feet. Whether you have standard width or duck feet like me, the fit of this shoe is naturally roomy and very cushioned, taking impact off your feet well. The lugs are nice and grippy, which awesome if you are looking for better traction to gravel and slippery terrain. The mid boot version would best suit someone using them as a hiking shoe who is looking for ankle support while keeping the comfy and lightweight fit of a trail running shoe. I would not personally buy this as a trail running shoe as the Gore-Tex membrane and added ankle support make this shoe a bit too heavy for running for my liking.
