A great fitting all round shell. You can't go past Gore-Tex performance and this is paired with all the features like the helmet compatible hood and high pockets which make it really nice to use in alpine environments with a helmet and harness on. It's equally as good as a tramping shell and it packs down sufficiently small. It's not the lightest jacket, so won't be fit for those looking to shave all the grams they can and it can be a bit 'crunchy' as the face fabric is a bit heavier.

Slim technical fit, doesn't flap around in the wind

The Alpha gives me the security of being protected by best in class waterproofing in 3L GORE-TEX� Pro, while Hadron� 3L GORE-TEX� in lower wear areas reduces weight and bulk in my pack, but also breathes better than GORE-TEX� Pro, making for an extremely versatile shell for high output adventures.
