Light and very durable pack that can be used on long day and as well on multiday hikes. It is narrower shape which gives enough room for movement in more challenging terrains. I'm using it as well as hiking-camera pack, and straps on the bottom the bag are super useful for holding camera tripod. I highly recommend use of pack liner and dry bags due to top-loading design.

Fit tip:
Comfy up to 12-14kg. Over that weight it is missing a bit padding on shoulder and hip straps.
  • Load range 7-16kg
  • Top-loading design with drawcord closure
  • Constructed with Osprey's technical NanoFly® fabric, which is reinforced with a triple-grid UHMWPE ripstop for outstanding strength, and extra-tough stretch pockets, this pack elevates our understanding of durability
  • Talon Pro is designed to be lightweight, fast moving and thoroughly featured to effectively adapt to the multi-sport demands of on-the-go adventurers and athletes
  • New torso adjustment and premium injection-moulded framesheet provides just-right structure to the pack and allows for a more comprehensive fit across the full spectrum of torso range
  • 4.0 mm LightWireâ„¢ peripheral frame effectively transfers load to hip belt
  • Injection-moulded AirScapeâ„¢ framesheet with die-cut foam provides a supportive, close-to-body fit while offering flexibility and ventilated airflow channels for active use
  • Mesh-covered foam lumbar for lightweight and comfortable contact surfaces
  • Sliding yoke torso length system ensures precise, stable fit for all users and is easily adjusted with two webbing straps
  • BioStretchâ„¢ harness and hip belt:
    • Integrated BioStretchâ„¢ seams offer maximum flexibility without sacrificing stability for dynamic body movement
    • Spacermesh over die-cut foam provides breathable, comfortable contact surface
    • Adjustable sternum strap with safety whistle buckle
    • Crossbody ErgoPull hip belt system to pull lumbar to your body for stability
    • Dual-zipped fabric hip belt pockets
  • Removable, floating lid can be extended to accommodate overloads
  • Internal compression strap effectively controls upper load
  • Internal hydration reservoir sleeve with centre pass through port
  • Large stretch mesh front panel pocket
  • Tuck-away ice axe attachment with bungee tie-off
  • Stretch woven side pockets
  • Dual upper quick release side compression straps
  • Dual V-pull lower side compression straps
  • Removable accessory pad straps on lower front panel
  • Blinker light attachment
  • Constructed with high-quality bluesign®-approved recycled high-tenacity nylon

The Speed 40 is designed as a lightweight alpine climbing pack. If you want to prioritize a pack that allows you the flexibility to custom how lightweight you want it to be and don't care much for something super comfortable, then this is the pack for you. You can choose to remove the hip belt fully, remove the top lid while still having a protective lid underneath. There are two straps designed to carry your crampons on the outside of your pack. The downside here is definitely the lack of padding throughout the back panel and lack of support to carry heavy loads well. This pack is good for someone looking for something streamlined and wanting the flexibility to strip down the pack to be able to move in more technical terrain without the pack getting in the way.

Fit tip:
Not suited for heavy loads. Not the most comfortable pack.
  • New BD "X-rip" 210d Nylon body fabric with UTSâ„¢ (Ultra Tear Strength) coating
  • Top-loading, with removable lid, drawcord skirt closure and tuck-away rope strap
  • Surface-mounted glove-friendly main hood-buckles
  • Drawcord skirt provides easy access and keeps out spindrift and light precipitation
  • Moisture-wicking redesigned back-panel
  • Redesigned Shoulder Strap harness for improved comfort and durability
  • Welded front abrasion patch for improved protection against rock, ice and crampon spikes
  • New custom metal dogbone ice tool attachment with micro ice-tool PickPocketsâ„¢ to boost ice-tool security and removable 20mm crampon straps
  • Strippable design: removable frame sheet / bivy pad and removable hipbelt with fixed webbing belt
