At 65L it can carry all the gear you need for almost any trip in NZ - from Great Walks to 10 days in the Southern Alps or Fiordland. The harness is super adjustable, allowing you to get just the right amount of padding in the shoulders and around the waist belt. With heaps of attachment points on the outside you can strap on extra gear for longer trips, or synch down the sides if you don't fill out the entire pack to keep everything inside securely in place. The front opening makes it super convenient to access your gear - and is also why this doubles as an awesome travel bag!

The Ariel 65 is an extremely versatile pack. I chose to buy this pack when I was going on an OE for a year. This pack offers the convenience and accessibility that a travel pack does, by having a full zip at the front as well as the comfort that a tramping pack provides. I have since also used it for its designed purpose of tramping and it does not disappoint. The pack sits nice and close to your back so you don't feel your belongings bouncing around when going through uneven terrain or making you feel unbalanced and carries weight exceptionally.

Fit tip:

The pack is narrow but taller than others. It will sit behind your head so if you are looking up a lot or wearing a helmet, it could feel a little restrcivtive.

I've had my Aura 65 AG for 8 years she is still going strong! Best hiking bag I've had! I usually get terrible and super painful bruising on my hips, but with the anti-gravity back suspension I have not had that issue at all! It hugs your hips like a koala bear lol. Was beyond elated that I gave this pack a chance! Just came back from an 8 day hike in Mt. Aspiring National Park and this pack still gave the same comfort it did as when I first got it. If you want a comfy and reliable multiday pack that will last a long time I would highly recommend!

The Ariel Pro 75 shares all the same features as the Ariel 65 while offering extra storage and a couple of unique features. The removable lid that converts into a day bag is a great feature to have if you are planning on traveling or going for a day hike and need a smaller pack when going out exploring for the day. You could also choose to remove it completely if your tramp doesn't require the extra storage and use the built in lid to protect your pack. The extra two pockets on the front of the pack provide extra space for you to store clothes, shoes, food or items you need to be easily accessible. The back panel remains in my opinion the best back harness from Osprey and allows you to carry heavier loads more comfortably with the pack staying in place and keeping it's shape. Being an Ariel 65 owner, I highly recommend the Ariel range in general and the extra 10L for those looking for a bit more storage flexibility whether you are tramping with kids or going traveling for an extended period of time.
