It’s a fantastic bag, it’s a durable back, it’s a beautiful bag. I love the design, I love the compartments, I love the adjustable straps. If you are looking for a strong, reliable duffel to lug around then I could not recommend this bag more. IF, however, you are looking for a bag that is easy to condense down into its storage pocket, I would turn and run the other way. This bag is incredible but I personally physically lack the strength and determination required to pack it away and I have TRIED. It’s a two person job if those two people are professional bodybuilders. If you’re looking for a bag you can pack down when not using, maybe steer towards The North Face Duffel.

This bag is a wicked, simple all-rounder of a duffel. It’s robust and minimal and comes is pretty colours (huge win). If you prefer one large compartment in your duffel or if you’re on a wee bit of a budget, I would recommend this bag totally. If, like myself, you’re a bit chaotic and lose your things in the void of a duffel bag, I would consider sliding over to the Transporter Squffel 70. That being said, the single compartment is completely manageable with packing cubes or a little bit of extra time to put your things in their places.

The North Face Basecamp Duffels are a must have. They are extremely robust and versatile. The medium size is a good size if you are planning on using it for travel for example. It is about the size of a 65L tramping pack and fits a great deal inside. My partner used this to travel overseas for over a year and found it to be a great duffel. Because it is so tough, it can take on pretty much anything and retains its shape nicely. Even after being thrown around in airports, trains stations and ferries, there are barely any scratches. The duffel is also great because you can use the straps as shoulder straps and chuck it on your back to go from point A to B without carrying all your belonging in one hand. It might be worth mentioning that even though it comes nicely folded in a separate bag, you will definitely never be putting it back in that. If you do, I'm impressed!
This Duffel has served us a lot not only traveling, but we have also used it as a climbing bag to go visit family and only carry the one bag.

Fit Tip: If you have too much weight in it, you will feel it digging in your shoulder. Good for short distances.
