The Ribelle Run 2's are some of the most snug and precise trail shoes I've ever ran in. These really do fit like socks and excel on technical trails. One compromise made is this precision comes at the expense of cushion and lateral stability, as this shoe is fairly narrow and lacks the plush feel of other trail runners. I found the rubber rand and rigidity of the heel gave my foot protection on rough loose ground. But for those looking for snug feel and precision on rugged trails, the Ribelle Run 2's are ideal.

Fit tip:
True to size
  • ARSF Last
  • Breathable and durable mesh combined with SCARPA's EXO system, which forms an integrated exoskeleton providing lateral foot support
  • Sock-Fit Slip On construction: stretch fabric ankle collar incorporated with a minimal stretch tongue provides gentle wrapping and support, reducing bulk and enhancing fit, and seals out trail debris
  • 3S(Secure, Stable, Sensitive) FRAME, which fully envelops the shoe's structure, providing superior support and optimal potection
  • Fast Lacing System: self-locking lacing system that allows the elastic lace to slide quickly and create the perfect fit
  • PRESA® sole made with high performance rubber outsole, with 6mm lugs provide optimal grip in muddy conditions
  • 4mm heel-to-toe drop (26.5 - 22.5mm)

The Speedcross are a huge seller and for very good reason. My friend has been buying these over and over again for many years. These shoes feel extremely comfortable and stable. Although Salomons tend to run quite narrow with their shoes, where the Speedcross can fit people with slightly wider toe boxes due to the stretchy mesh. The are a great running shoe, designed to grip to muddy and wet terrains.
The main limitation with this model is that if running on a flat, concrete type road you might feel the lugs through the shoes. The heel to toe drop is quite noticeable, so if you are not used to feeling your heels so high up this might not be the shoe for you. The non Gore-Tex version is much nicer for warmer days, if you tend to sweat quickly and for better breathability.
They are great for adventure racing, running on grass or gravel terrain.

Fit tip:
Standard fit in tow box - narrow heel
  • Low cut profile for freedom of movement
  • Completely welded, stitch-free upper construction with dissociated SensiFitâ„¢ arms move naturally with your foot and provides a smooth, glove-like, fit and feel
  • SensiFitâ„¢ overlay cradles your foot from the midsole to the lacing system providing a secure, snug and virtually customised fit all around your foot
  • Quicklaceâ„¢ and friction free lace eyelets: minimalistic and strong lace for one pull tightening - easy on, easy off
  • Lace pocket provides easy storage for the Quicklaceâ„¢ lacing system
  • Molded OrthoLite® insole technology provides superior cushioning, unmatched comfort, breathability and durability, and is one of the most cost-effective ways to upgrade the comfort and performance of your footwear
  • Tight mesh prevents debris from being trapped between your foot and the footbed
  • Heel unit creates a cradle for your heel, ensuring clean foot strike and stability through the stride
  • EnergyCellâ„¢+ high-rebound midsole provides exceptional energy return along with substantial cushioning and durability
  • 10mm heel to toe drop
  • Contagrip® TA is designed for maximum grip on lose, soft or rugged uneven surfaces and uses deep, sharp lugs made from a compound that balances durability and adhesion
  • Larger chevron lug design with more space and an updated geometry for better push-off and breaking grip in all surface conditions
