The Pear shape of this screw-link is great for attaching to harness with webbing attachment points because of their large gates and rounded shape which is easy on webbing. The wide gate and large internal volume makes them great also for connecting to objects like a round bar. The screw can be secured with a spanner or even thread adhesive when it is crucial the gate won't open.
