I first bought the Lone Peak 5's and I lovedddd them and then didn't love some of the in between models and strayed to another brand for several years. But having had the Lone Peak 9+'s for several months now I love them as much as my original 5's. The Vibram soles are a huge plus for durability and grip, and the toe box is slightly roomier. I do find the Lone Peak's run slightly small, and I sized up a half size (normally wear an EU 42, and wear the EU42.5 in the Lone Peaks). These are perfect for me for short trail runs on soft terrain, day hikes and short multi day trips depending on my pack weight.

Fit tip:
Runs small

The Ribelle Run 2 shoes come with great updates from the original model. The lugs are more aggressive with the lugs sticking out further to the side of the shoe which provides the grip needed to go downhill or uphill gravel or small scree. The upper is much more comfortable than the previous model with a true 'sock feel' and the stiffness of the shoe makes for a great hiking shoe as well as an alpine trail running shoe. I have used the Ribelle Run 2 on multi day hikes and canyoning. Overall, the upgrades on this second model make it a huge step up and well worth upgrading to this version. However, I will say that this shoe is better suited for those with narrow feet, as the shoe tapers quite a bit, especially at the front.

Fit tip:
Narrow fitting
  • ARSF Last
  • Breathable and durable mesh combined with SCARPA's EXO system, which forms an integrated exoskeleton providing lateral foot support
  • Sock-Fit Slip On construction: stretch fabric ankle collar incorporated with a minimal stretch tongue provides gentle wrapping and support, reducing bulk and enhancing fit, and seals out trail debris
  • 3S(Secure, Stable, Sensitive) FRAME, which fully envelops the shoe's structure, providing superior support and optimal potection
  • Fast Lacing System: self-locking lacing system that allows the elastic lace to slide quickly and create the perfect fit
  • PRESA® sole made with high performance rubber outsole, with 6mm lugs provide optimal grip in muddy conditions
  • 4mm heel-to-toe drop (26.5 - 22.5mm)

I find these shoes super comfortable and honestly a pretty good walking-around-shoe. I can’t comment on these as a running shoe but for a lot of comfortable support, especially if you stand/walk a lot or maybe are slightly on the heavier side like myself, these are a gem of a shoe! If you’re a wider footed person, I would size up ½ - 1 size. They’re not a wide shoe but with the additional size I find them to be a comfy width with no annoying tightness anywhere.

Fit tip:
Slightly on the narrow side but not too significantly so.
  • Low cut profile for freedom of movement
  • Made with a simpler, lighter and more breathable upper for improved airflow when it is hot and better water evacuation for dryer feet when it is wet, mile after mile
  • endoFitâ„¢ upper construction is an internal fit sleeve designed to hug the foot in exactly the right places and provide a precise fit
  • Quicklaceâ„¢ is a minimalistic and strong lace for one pull tightening- easy on, easy off
  • Lace pocket provides easy storage for the Quicklaceâ„¢ lacing system
  • Engineered mesh is a structure that varies the weave to offer more support and durability or flexibility and breathability, according to the specific needs of the shoe
  • Relieve Sphere: the distinctive, wavy geometry of the outsole is specifically designed to diffuse pressure and to break down repeated underfoot impact for enhanced, durable comfort
  • All Terrain contaGRIP® is built for the widest variety of surfaces to deliver durability and confidence on wet, dry, hard or loose surfaces
  • Best used for 4 or more distance runs a week on mixed terrain
  • 4mm lug depth
  • 6mm heel to toe drop (41-35mm stack)

These shoes are a super comfortable every-day wear if you’re on your feet a lot. I find that they reduce a lot of back pain I might otherwise get from standing for hours and keep your feet feeling springy and supported. I have not used these for trail running, however I do find that they slide off if you don’t use the extra lace hole. From my experience with customers trying these shoes, they are better suited to people with a more defined heel that a straight up heel. Huge fan of the comfort and even bigger fan of the colours!

Fit tip:
Great fit for wider feet, a little less secure on the heel but otherwise quite true to size.
