- To rehydrate:
- Open the pack
- Add 250ml (1 cup) of boiling water to rehydrate and mix thoroughly (30 seconds)
- Reseal and wait until rehydrated (10 minutes)

- Bags are reusable. Once clean, they are the ultimate zip-lock bag. They are excellent waterproof bags for phones and small items that you want to keep dry on your outdoor pursuits. A clean bag can also become the perfect utensil to combine meals, because adding one meal to another can be extremely delicious.
- The "numbers" in the ingredients list on Real Meals labels replace the chemical or common name of particular food additives. They don't actually add these things themselves. They come with some of the ingredients used, for example, coconut cream, curry paste, ice cream etc. These are used in most products to enhance the colour, flavour, texture or prevent food from spoiling and are not a new thing, as additives have been used for centuries. The numbers come from a standardised list created in the 1960s in Europe (so also known as 'E-numbers').

Real Meals freeze dry their food. "Freeze drying, also known as lyophilisation or cryodesiccation, is a low temperature dehydration process that involves freezing the product, lowering pressure, then removing the ice by sublimation. Because of the low temperature used in the freeze-drying processing, the quality of the rehydrated product is excellent, and the original shape of the product is maintained. This is in contrast to dehydration by most conventional methods that evaporate water using heat." 99% of moisture is removed and 97% of nutrition is retained during the process. Real Meals cook their meals and then freeze dry them, when it is rehydrated it will taste the same and look the same as before it went into the freeze-dryer. Freeze-dried foods rehydrate faster and retain their original shape, texture, and colour as well as making the food much lighter and offer a longer shelf life. We are unable to ship internationally.
NZ Overnight Delivery:
All standard orders are sent via NZ Post’s Overnight Delivery Service. Orders placed before 2pm are usually delivered the next working day - nationwide, however delivery timeframes may occasionally vary due to courier delays outside of our control.
- Options for 'Signature Required' or 'No Signature Required' via the checkout.
- We deliver to NZ physical addresses and PO Boxes (no parcel lockers).
- We ship Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays).
- For Rural Deliveries and in certain parts of NZ - time frames may take a bit longer.
- Additional delays may also occur if further payment or address information is required.

- Orders with both standard and oversized items in them, will be delivered in the oversized delivery timeframe of 3-7 working days.

Oversized Deliveries:
Shipping of oversized items takes 3-7 working days. However you are able to pick these up Same Day should the oversized item be available in your selected store. Find out more here.

To get your order to you as quickly as possible, your items may be shipped from multiple locations. This means your order could arrive in separate packages or be delivered on different days.

Non Shipping Days and Delays:
- Orders placed late Friday or over the weekend are processed the following Monday.
- Sale periods may cause delays due to increased order volume.

Rural Delivery:
No additional charges or fees for any rural deliveries throughout New Zealand. Some rural deliveries may take longer than standard NZ delivery times. Rural may take a further 1-2 days.
Cancellation Policy:
Unfortunately orders cannot be cancelled or modified once they are placed. However, if there's an issue with your order, please contact our Customer Service team as soon as possible and we'll do our best to help.
